This production leaned heavily into Shakespeare's play-within-a-play framing device to show this story as an exaggeration of human foibles, pointing the way to kindness and compassion by satirizing a life without them. We entered the play-within through an elaborate theatrical transformation involving music, dancing, roll drops, and a transforming pageant wagon. This show also had many pieces of intricate and bizarre furniture pieces, all custom-built for the occasion.
