The land of Illyria exists in dualities, between myth and reality, between love and madness, seen through layers of whimsy and artifice. To create a world where these hazy distinctions breed a web of misdirected affections, I leaned heavily into Neoclassical imagery, which looked back at history through a romantically distorted lens.
