Taking its inspiration from the world of Fellini films, this production creates a world of juxtapositions. The very

textural and "real" pieces of architecture are set within a framework of lighting trusses and overt theatricality. The distressed world of ancient Italy lives with the slick style of 60’s Milan. The ostensibly black and white set is a subtle combination of muted hues.
The most imperative thing was to create a space where the many direct addresses of the play could more directly interact with the audience, which meant the modification of our proscenium theatre to contain the large central thrust platform.
