Good Time was a children's theatre company that would travel and perform at schools, libraries, and other venues around Michigan and surrounding states. So the challenge was always to figure out how to create something that could be magical and fun, but still fold up, come apart, and fit in a van in time for three actors to get to their next destination and get set up again. For One Small Step, I used a set of folding, double-faced panels and a collapsing drop to travel through Neil Armstrong’s childhood and various sites of the Apollo mission, culminating in the famous moon landing.
