The ransacked synogogue of Two Jews posed a number of interesting challenges.  To achieve the scarred look of the walls, we coated all surfaces in joint compound, painted them, and then came back through with claw hammers, rasps, chisels, and other implements of destruction to dig through that surface.  The punched metal Star-of-David pattern over the windows was cut from stretch paper and spray-painted to mimic metal.  For the plaques, I had to first learn to write accurately in Hebrew, then I used a hot point to carve the lettering into the Styrofoam plaques.
